At The Helm
The Helm.CEO was a huge project. When I first started my role at the Helm Society, I had 3 major projects. The website was one of the largest projects I had because we were launching this as the new Corporate Website. My role for this project was somewhat the UX designer and the Project Manager.
At the time the company had 2 different websites. One website was a landing page with basic information. The second website was an attempt to create something similar to LinkedIn. There was a lot of disconnect with the way the websites were supposed to work and the experience that the end user was supposed to have.
When I took on this project the first thing I did was Identify the concept. I found 4 Key functions that the website was supposed to deliver on. First, the Introduction. Who we were and why it matters. Second was the Call to Action. Why you needed to join the club and how you benefit from it. Third was the Community. How to integrate a social setting for online interaction between CEO’s. And fourth, a section I called Nuggets. This was a Function dedicated to sharing short 4-7 minute videos packed full of knowledge for the end user to learn what we at the Helm are all about and the rich knowledge that they would gain from the Helm.
On the project management side of things, I was responsible for managing our overseas developers who were in charge of building the website.
Unfortunately, my role at the Helm concluded as I was returning to school to complete my Bachelors, so I was unable to complete the website during my time there. However, I did lay the ground work for the Company to be able to complete the website post my departure. The site has gone through a few major changes. However, the concepts have remained the same.
