Day 31
Describe a mistake you’ve made in the sizing up the community partners setting? [ECU]
I have created many small mistakes that are not important enough that they can be swept under the rug. However, the biggest mistake I have made in the community partner setting cost the organization $75. Luckily, for me it was not a huge mistake. I learned that the lack of proper communication could really hurt the organization in many ways. I deleted an entire database of the pivotal tracker content management system. This mistake was due in part of my misinterpretation of directions I was given by my boss. While I was not held responsible for this mistake, I learned the value in discerning the complexity of decision-making. The mistake did not affect the community partner setting very much. However, the experience I gained from this mistake allows me to comprehend that asking questions and really understanding a task creates a more fluid transition for working throughout the day.
I learned this when I mistakenly deleted the database for the content management system Pivotal Tracker. This happened 3 weeks ago, on my fourth week of my internship.
This learning matters because people learn from mistakes.
In light of this learning. I feel that I have personally grown from this mistake. Allowing me to take in this mistake really let me see things in a new perspective.
