Day 15
Can I determine the how my performance (supporting morale, and spirit, fostering open dialogue, creating a feeling of belonging) in small group is judged related to my peers? If so, what do I do well? Where is there an opportunity for small groups or unit decision making participation and improvement? Might a conversation with your DFE site supervisor be valuable? Why or why not? [FGD]
Please apply the Reflective Discernment Model to articulate your learning: I learned that, I learned that when, This learning matters because, In light of this learning.
I learned that my performance in a small group is enhanced greatly based on the tasks assigned. The spirit of initiative becomes empowered in a small group because I am trying to do things on my own with little direction. My boss judges my performance; this is because, I work directly with him. There is a higher demand for improvement in my group because we are building a process that needs to for the organization to follow. Generating a feeling of belonging is easy in my situation because I am handling tasks that make me vital to being there. I am very successful in my position. The CEO Josh Klenoff, has told me on more than one occasion that I have been a tremendous help and my work has added a lot of value to the startup. There is always an opportunity for decision making opportunity. The decisions I make affect my portion of a task witch consequently affects the group whether it be beneficial or not it is a discernment that must be made based on my judgement. This feeling of judgement, I fell is in similarity with my peers because each one of us is assigned specific roles that creates value within the organization.
I learn this continually when I take on tasks. In my position coming through is a key item because I am responsible for managing other people and if I slow down, they slow down as well. My involvement with the organization is key to help it move forward.
This learning matters because, accountability, dependability, and decision-making are vital in my position. Creating a feeling of belonging in small groups is not difficult because people that depend on my decision-making surround me.
In light of this learning, I can determine that my performance in a small group is judged in the same way they are judged. The groups I am involved with have a dependency on me as I do them.
