Stroke of Midnight: Where were you last night when 2016 turned into 2017? Is
that where you’d wanted to be?
At the stroke of midnight, I welcomed in the new year of 2017 with a smile and a hug with my family. I was in the central time zone so some of my friends in the eastern time zone had already welcomed the new year. In terms of was this the place I wanted to be, I can honestly say that I do not know. I know what you’re thinking… I was at home with family. Yes while that is true, with so many problems. I can not say that I was happy. I can only say that I was at home with mom and dad. If I would have been anywhere else, I would have been in 1 of two places. First, I would have been in my dorm room at college which is nearly 2.5 hours away or I would have been in New York celebrating with my family up there.
